WWE 2K17: Predicting The 25 Highest Rated Superstars

The beasts, the big guys and the top stars of this year's game.

SummerSlam weekend traditionally sees the big roster reveal for each WWE 2K game, but this year is set to be different. With NXT Takeover taking precedence the day before the big PPV, WWE have limited space on their schedule to make the usual song and dance about 2K's game. Perhaps we can expect some news on the Suplex City game mode, surely? Or something prestigious in the traditional spot.

Either way, with roster reveals coming out via IGN every week, it won't be long before have a broad picture of the full starting roster, combining classic talents with current roster superstars. And inevitably, the next question will be who the most highly rated stars in the game will be.

Every year we see abominable travesties like Bret Hart being under-rated (it annoyed him at least), Big Show being a top guy, John Cena still being THE top guy... It's all ammunition for fans to complain about. And there will inevitably be issues this year too. The trend has always been to favour the biggest names on the product (even though WWE supposedly aren't involved that closely), and with Brock Lesnar ruling this year's game, it seems certain that we'll see a whole host of stars boosted to above the 90 threshold.

So, who's going to be the biggest beasts in the game this year?

25. Andre The Giant

Last Year: 89

Prediction: 89

There's no way 2K are going to strip any points away from the legend, and it's not like there's a special Game Mode celebrating the Giant that would warrant any change in his rating either.

So expect him to be a solid top 80s guy, based on the old "2K loves a massive man" model of thinking. This is of course, a travesty, given that Sheamus was rated higher than him last time out, but then 2K are catering to a primary demographic who probably don't quite get Andre's era of greatness. Sure, he's a legend, but he's no Braun Strowman...
