Anyone else want the freedom to give AJ Styles a haircut?

Seth Rollins may be giddy over being named WWE 2K18's cover star, but the actual game itself needs to live up to his 'Architect' nickname by building on the series rather than playing placeholder. This can't be another average title for 2K. They've had the reigns on WWE video games since 2K14, so it's about time they gave people something special.

WWE games should be more than lifeless grinds through match after match. That was the core problem with 2K17, it just didn't feel innovative enough. In fact, it barely even tried to break the mould or do anything different. Ask yourself: aside from an updated roster, what did 2K17 boast that was a vast improvement over 2K16?

Change is overdue and we want a WWE game to be proud of; something that will keep us playing all year rather than for a month or two is a real must. In order for that to happen, 2K need to reevaluate what's important...

10. A Story Mode That Mimics Real-Life WWE

The 'House Of Horrors' match at Payback between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton looked like something from a video game anyway, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for 2K to include something like it in 2K18. Failing that, simply using real-life WWE storylines to pad out the game sounds fun.

Remember when Steve Austin destroyed the DX Express in SmackDown 2: Know Your Role? That's the kind of thing we want to see in 2K18. It was big, it was bold and it was more than a little ridiculous, but it was also something fans had seen on TV. Why haven't WWE games used over-the-top angles and stories from real-life programming in so long? It's baffling.

Although 2K do have a cut off point, it surely wouldn't be too hard for them to include actual WWE stories each year. Aside from the 'House Of Horrors' situation, other storylines that would work include The Undertaker's retirement and even the epic war between Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair.
