Xbox One: 10 Stupid Mistakes It's Already Made

10. DRM/Region Locking

Xbox One Originally, Xbox One games would install to the HDD (whether you liked it or not), and that game would be tied to that console i.e. you couldn't let your sibling or friend borrow the game to play on their console. It was also announced that you wouldn't be able trade-in your games as you can now, unless it was with "participating retailers" i.e. whoever agrees to give Microsoft money. Region locking would also prevent players importing games from abroad. This was a considerable downer, as some games are only released in specific territories, and what if you moved from the UK to the US? Your UK console would have a hissy fit with US discs. Fortunately, Microsoft reversed both decisions, so now you can trade-in your unwanted games and lend them to your friends. Also, you no longer have to install the game to the HDD (unless it's required by the developer).
