Xbox One: 5 Brilliant Uses Beyond Gaming

5. Skype

It's nice to know that Microsoft is attempting to incorporate brand new ways to bring gamers together, even if those means aren't exactly original. Take, for example, the inclusion of Skype, Microsoft's video chat client that was released for all computer operating systems way back in 2003. While it isn't a brand new tool, its integration into the Xbox One experience is nothing short of genius. With Skype, users can receive video messages from friends that reveal more than just voices. And with the Xbox One UI's ability to snap applications to the side of the screen, users can receive those calls seamlessly whilst they're playing Call of Duty, or watching a movie, without missing any of the action. It all runs smoothly, of course, and isn't at all as distracting as one probably imagines it to be.
