RMS Titanic began her fateful maiden voyage at noon on Wednesday 10th April 1912. Those claims were stunningly proved incorrect four days into the journey, at approximately 11:40pm, when she hit an iceberg, which caused watertight compartments to open up into the sea, allowing the ship to gradually fill with water, and be dragged down into the ice-cold depths.
