6 No-Fail Funny Websites

star wars boxers I recently read a comment in a Dan Brown book that intellectual people excelled at denial. He said that when we are faced with something unpleasant, we tend to find something else to fixate on, whether music lyrics or funny cat videos. I am no exception. When I had to watch a documentary on the concentration camps for research, I was so shocked and saddened that I asked a friend to find me something to make me smile. She came back five minutes later with a site on how to make bleu cheese at home. Since then, I have a history of checking certain sites every day just to escape the doldrums and stresses of life. Here are my Top 10.

6. Failbook

download (1)http://failblog.cheezburger.com/failbook With the advent of social media, bad writing has become an art form. Bad personalities have been integrated into a spectator sport. Drama queens have a whole new venue. And some of us who have been putting up with all of those offline have a place to go and laugh our guts out at the misfortune of others. Be warned. Some of these are not family-friendly. They tend to post anything that shows people not getting sex jokes. They are also quite fond of awkward parent/child posts. That being said, this is a good place to go whenever your own friends exasperate you. You can go to this site and see that they are in good (if hysterical) company. You can see that they might not be as bad as the rest of this lot. You might find yourself turning red because you didn't realize that you belong on Failbook yourself.

That's Kaki pronounced like the pants, thank you very much, my family nickname and writing name. I am a Red Sox-loving, Doctor Who-quoting, Shaara-reading walking string quartet of a Mormon writer from Boston. I currently work 40 hours at a stressful desk job with a salary that lets me pick up and travel to places like Ireland or Philadelphia. I have no husband or kids, but I have five nephews to keep me entertained. When not writing, working or eating too much Indian food, I'm always looking for something new to learn, whether it's French or family history.
