10 Amazing Noughties Albums No One Ever Talks About

The most underrated, neglected, under-talked-about albums of the 2000s.

Franz Ferdinand1 I never see my favourite albums on 'Best of' or 'Top X' lists. Never. Okay, that's a slight exaggeration. I love Nirvana and their albums appear on those things quite a lot. Oh, and I kind of like David Bowie, too, and his work gets around. But generally speaking, the albums I (and I'm sure many others) adore and listen to frequently never even get even a trace of a mention. And that - quite frankly - makes me sad. So, starting with a decade that spawned some truly wonderful but highly under-loved artists, bands and albums - the noughties - I'm taking something of a stand. Many of these albums haven't faded away because they had no success. More than a few did fairly well, commercially as well as critically. Others simply live in the shadow of more well-received or popular releases. And inevitably there are some which critics just weren't ready for. But all are, quite simply, underrated, and in some cases, appear to have been entirely forgotten by the majority. The following works are all special in their own way, and I'm not just saying that because I'm biased. Here are what I believe to be the best of those who made few or no best of-lists: the most underrated, neglected, under-talked-about noughties albums...
