10 Bands You Need To See At Download Festival 2017

9. Venom Prison

Venom Prison is death metal revitalised for the 21st century. Driven by morbidness in almost every respect, this British outfit may have only one album to their name, Animus (2016), but they have already made one hell of an impact, receiving glowing reviews and coverage from the likes of Kerrang! and Metal Hammer.

And, after UK tours with the likes of Darkest Hour and Suicide Silence already taking place this year, metalheads now have another chance to experience Venom Prison's dark ritual on Download Festival's Friday at the Dog Tooth Stage.

With everything about Venom Prison screaming undiluted darkness, intensity and ferocity, the band is a must-see for only the most hardened metal fans that will be gracing Donington.

Especially with their set taking place on day one (when people undoubtedly have the most energy), things will definitely get very, very moshy.

I write for Metal Hammer, Prog and WhatCulture. I don’t have Facebook or Twitter, so you’ll just have to call me a stupid cuck to my face.
