10 Best Metal EPs Of 2017 (So Far)

8. A Trust Unclean - Parturition

The third EP from British death metallers A Trust Unclean, Parturition is a short ride that makes up for its briefness by becoming an experience jam-packed with unyielding brutality. The disc incorporates influences from a great many metal subgenres, all of which are insanely punishing, including death metal, progressive metal, deathcore, thrash and groove metal.

The riffs are down-tuned and have the pace and impact of machine gun fire, while the rhythm section is as polyrhythmic and mathematically intricate as you could ever hope for.

New lead singer Kyle Lamb makes his A Trust Unclean debut on Parturition and he not only delivers a dynamic, varied performance (complete with a plethora of diversely pitched growls), but he also demonstrates such visceral charisma that fans are hoping wholeheartedly that this new front-man can stick around for as long as possible.
