10 Best Metal Live Performances You Can Watch On YouTube Right Now

9. Alestorm (Wacken Open Air, 2013)

Everyone needs to experience the "Scottish pirate power metal" sub-genre live at least once in their life. And this list's number nine entry, Alestorm, are at the very pinnacle of this musical movement. Maybe because they are the only band in said movement.

Originally, this entry was a toss-up between Alestorm and Steel Panther. And as great as the latter is as both a comedy act and a live band, the former just has more zany originality and is, thus, in a realm of craziness entirely their own. Truly, there will only ever be one Alestorm.

The power metal melodies of such cult hits as The Sunk'n Norwegian, Keelhauled and Captain Morgan's Revenge all lend themselves perfectly to the live atmosphere, while the German crowd at Wacken 2013 also deserve to have hats tipped their way for their joyous swaying during Nancy the Tavern Wench and the pits and crowdsurfers for set closer Rum.
