Google "easiest guitar riffs", and it's likely that you'll be faced with the same three or four songs time after time. Iron Man. Seven Nation Army. Satisfaction, and of course, Smoke On The Water. For a beginner guitarist, it's enough to drive them insane and leave them yearning for more songs to play that are within their skill level. Learning any instrument is never an easy process, and if there's one thing that would lead a new player to give up before they've even properly started, it would be a lack of songs to play.

To assist those looking for new songs to learn and experiment with, here is a list of guitar riffs that can be easily mastered by a beginner player looking to expand their repertoire. In some instances, these songs are easier to play than the regular litany of songs that have been dubbed the "easiest" for beginners, yet they never appear on common lists of the easiest riffs of all time, which is honestly quite a shame. If anyone is looking for more songs to try their hand at, then this list might be a good place to start.

At the end of the day, at least it isn't Smoke On The Water again.

10. Do I Wanna Know? - Arctic Monkeys

One of the standout singles from the Arctic Monkey's fifth studio album "AM", "Do I Wanna Know?" is an insanely captivating song that features rich narrative lyrics detailing an unrequited romance. The song is a satisfying blend of overlapping lyrics and warm instrumentation, still standing as one of the band's most beloved singles to date. Alex Turner sings and plays on this track with a chilling restraint, which serves to create an ethereal sense of ease to the entire track. Haunting and amazingly indelible in equal measures.

Structurally, this song is only comprised of two riffs, the main riff and the slightly different chorus riff. Not a lot to learn, but the sparse instrumentation adds to the satisfying feel to the overall song. The two phrases might prove a little finicky for a new beginner, but it shouldn't take too long to master this song, which not only serves as an impressive marker for a newcomer's skill, but as a reliable crowd pleaser that will go down well with any budding audience. On the whole, "Do I Wanna Know?" is an intensely gratifying song that is often overlooked in discussions of the easiest songs to learn, but still brilliant nonetheless.
