10 Greatest Hard Rock Debut Albums

9. Twisted Sister – Under The Blade

Following a lengthy stint on the club circuit, cult icons Twisted Sister released their debut album in 1982, and it is remembered fondly as one of the heaviest rock albums of the time, blurring the lines between hard rock and heavy metal.

With some great songs written entirely by frontman Dee Snider, the record has an incredibly strong track listing, which includes some well-known songs like the title track, Under The Blade, and Shoot ‘Em Down.

Under The Blade received critical praise to no end, even drawing comparison to the works of Alice Cooper and Judas Priest. Critics loved the ferocity of the record and praised the lyric writing of Dee Snider very highly.

The album’s sound was enjoyable enough to appeal to both British heavy metal fans and North American audiences and was a launching pad for Twisted Sister’s success in later years.
