10 Music Easter Eggs You Never Realised Were In Famous Albums

There's more than meets the ear...

When people think of easter eggs in entertainment, they tend to think of television shows and films, little visual nods to other characters, directors and franchises. Easter eggs in video games get talked a lot about, too €“ hidden rooms with developer messages or humorous details. These tend to be the easiest kind of easter egg to spot, but what you might not know is that there are a ton of easter eggs in music albums, too.

Easter eggs in albums are a different thing entirely. For a start, they usually don't have a visual element to play with. What this means is that they have to be implemented in much more unique and interesting ways. They also have to be hidden a lot more subtly, as an obvious easter egg could tarnish the integrity of a whole track, whereas a detail in the background of a film shot is largely inconsequential. Easter eggs will always exist in the media. They're a fun way of seeing how engaged the audience is, and a great way for artists to have a bit of fun while also sometimes making a point. From secret messages backmasked to records that don't play the same tracks twice, let's take a look at ten easter eggs that were staring you in the face (or ears) this whole time...
