10 New Wave Of British Heavy Metal Bands That Are Better Than Ever

4. Hell

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X77NitfD_SY Classic Album You Should Own: Human Remains (2011). Rising from the underworld, hell-bent on reclaiming it's rightful place in the scene it helped to develop, Hell's long awaited debut release took 26 years to arrive but it was well worth the purgatorial wait. Recommended Modern Album: Human Remains (2011). See above. Hell began life in 1982 but disbanded in 1987 and this cult band were considered lost to the annals of time until the surviving members reconvened in 2008. Their long awaited debut contains re-recorded versions of songs originally performed by the band during the early to mid 80's. Painstakingly pieced together by Andy Sneap (ex-Sabbat/Metal Producer extraordinaire) at his own Backstage Studios, it was he who played the biggest part in the band's resurrection, eventually joining the band as a full-time member. Ignored by the music industry the first time round, the band could be forgiven for thinking that a similar response awaited them but the time's had considerably changed. On it's release in 2011, apathy traded places with adulation as one of the holy grails of the NWOBHM/early 80's Metal scene landed like an atomic bomb and the world paid heed; hell on earth had arrived and it's true when they say the devil has all the best tunes! Human Remains is a scorching record, with one hoof in the past and the other firmly in the present, the band seamlessly combines a traditional NWOBHM sound with a modern Power Metal production; conjuring one of the greatest comeback's in modern Metal history in the process. Theatrical, unorthodox, complex and revelling in imagery designed to upset the moral majority these devilish maniacs are finally receiving the respect they should have garnered 30 years ago. With Andy Sneap unleashing riffs like he's on the receiving end of one of Satan's very hot pokers, Human Remains is a comeback so successful that Hell's pact with the devil must have been a 32 page document!

I love Heavy Metal, and generally anything that involves a guitar and loud noises, so I figured it was about time I put all the useless information in my head to good use and start writing a few things. Most of the time I'll be writing nonsense but occasionally I may surprise myself and appear half-way knowledgable.....but you can be the judge of that. Thanks for your fleeting attention!
