10 Things You Didn't Know About Marina Diamandis

10. She Has Synesthesia

Diamandis has been diagnosed with synesthesia, and consequently associates particular colours with musical notes and days of the week. She's had strange technicolor dreams which have inspired her music (and also admitted in her early recording days that she wasn't a big listener of music, taking her inspiration from things she could see rather than hear). Synesthesia is essentially having one sensory pathway involuntarily link with another, so that numbers or letters appear coloured, or spatially different to what a non-synesthete sees.

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
