In 2015 while touring his solo album Hesitant Alien, Gerard played a show in Tokyo, Japan which featured his brother and fellow ex-band member Mikey Way.

Mikey took the stage to a rapturous response, softening the hearts that were hardened by grief at My Chemical Romance's destruction. Adding to the excitement, they also played a new song by Gerard titled Don't Try. If you squint you could almost believe it's an old My Chem show!
