14. Jarvis Cocker
The well-spoken Sheffield frontman epitomised '90s alternative indie-pop and it was Pulp's 1994 breakthrough record His 'n' Hers that made people stand up and take notice, particularly to the witty, skinny, spectacle-wearing and opinionated frontman who was also, in case you didn't know, the guy who stormed the stage during Michael Jackson's '96 Brit Awards performance, no less. The Mercury Prize winning, Glasto headlining Pulp boast the most delightful leading man who's always been praised for his unique look, or in his own words, "I'm lanky with bad eyesight. In reality I look like an ugly girl". Jarvis is responsible for endless poignant quotes which, if laid out flat, would cover the whole of the Steel City three-fold. They include: "Pornography takes all of the reality out of sex and Disney does that to family life." "But when you melt you become the shape of your surroundings. Your horizons become wider."
