15 Greatest Queen Songs Of All Time

14. Radio Gaga

Queen Bohemian Rhapsody
EMI

From: The Works (1984)

Right from the opening drum beat and synthesizer bits, you’re prepared to sing along to this one. Even if you’ve never experienced Queen in person (sadly, the state of this writer), from existing footage you can tell it was a concert favorite, and rightfully so.

The funkiness vibe from the song alone makes it a worthy addition to your playlist, but it’s the song’s message that makes it stand out. A love letter by Queen (and more specifically, songwriter Rodger Taylor) to a medium past its prime, and one declining in popularity to television (MTV in particular), it still holds relevance today in the climate of music streaming services and YouTube, as it now only serves as background noise (as the track predicted) for people driving their cars. And yes, if you listen to the radio today, most of it is indeed “radio gaga”.

It's a shame, really, but at least we still have songs like this to remind us of the good old days (although, "the good old days" were before this writer's time, so ask someone who lived through the '80s because I'm probably making inaccurate assumptions).

"Radio Gaga" is also notable for being featured on the Los Santos Rock Station in GTA V - at least, until it was inevitably removed due to the license expiring.

Aaron Kirby hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
