15 Things Only Stone Sour Fans Will Understand

14. Eclecticism

One reason why the comparison between Stone Sour and Slipknot simply doesn't work is because Stone Sour are so eclectic that they have often covered the "heavier" stuff anyway! One of the things that excites us fans the most is how eclectic and diverse their catalogue is, ranging from delicate acoustic pieces, to soaring ballads, to groovy rock songs, to thrash-out metal-fests. And they do all of those things brilliantly. Perhaps their diversity comes from the band's huge range of influences. They cite artists as disparate as Mötley Crüe, Elvis Presley, Faith No More, Alice In Chains, Metallica, Chris Isaak, Bon Jovi, KoRn, Bob Dylan and Cheap Trick as inspirations. That's a pretty crazy list of artists! That means, of course, that a track like Bother can sit alongside one like Get Inside without sounding weird or out of place.
