20 Punk Rock Albums You Must Hear Before You Die

18. Suicidal Tendencies - Suicidal Tendencies

While the band shifted gears towards a thrash metal shortly after its release, Suicidal Tendencies' debut, eponymous album is the stuff of punk rock legend, and for good reasons.

Lead singer Mike Muir took on various different issues with his lyrics in this album, and did so wonderfully. He tackled the topic of depression and dysphoria in the now-iconic Institutionalized, offered his two cents on the political climate of the '80s in Two Sided Politics, and painted a dark, yet incredibly vivid picture of the fears associated with the Cold War in Memories of Tomorrow.

Plus, this is a great album to listen to when you're just hanging out and drinking a Pepsi. Just one, though.
