20 Unsigned Metal Bands Everyone Needs To Hear

19. Myridia

They've been on the down-low for a little while, but that doesn't stop the UK's Myridia (and their 2015 debut, Mirror of Eden) from being awesome. Inspired by thrash/death metal juggernauts Sylosis (their guitarist actually produced Myridia's album) as well as a slew of instrumental guitar virtuosos including Intervals and Animals as Leaders, the six-piece takes extreme metal, decorates it with a dash of cryptic and artistic imagery then pumps it out with an eclectic mix of unpredictable riffs and a dual vocal assault.

For fans of Sylosis, Shogun-era Trivium and the singing style of Rise to Remain, Myridia is a collection of underground mavens that you need to dedicate some time to.

I write for Metal Hammer, Prog and WhatCulture. I don’t have Facebook or Twitter, so you’ll just have to call me a stupid cuck to my face.
