5 Song Remakes That Were Better Than the Originals

4. "A Groovy Kind Of Love" - Phil Collins

Originals by: Diane & Annita/The Mindbenders The former Genesis drummer took a page out of Joe Cocker's book and slowed down a classic to make it a ballad, and the result is magical. Rerecording it for the movie Buster in which he starred, Collins improved on the clunky, old-fashioned shuffle of the original's rhythm and made it not only more heartfelt, he made it somehow truer. When his version was released in the late '80s, many couples started snatching it up as "their song." Sure, listening to it now, it sounds a little cheesy and dated (who says "groovy" anymore?), but if the mood is right, it can still elicit a happy tear or two.
