A Beginners Guide To Thrash Metal

9. Overkill €“ The Years of Decay €“ 1989

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlmPnkF2LtM Hailing from New Jersey and seen by many as the only other East Coast Thrash metal band of any note. (Anthrax being the other). Overkill was bass player DD Verni€™s baby and this is clear by how ridiculously loud his instrument is in the mix of their recorded output. This is undoubtedly their magnum opus and has sold an impressive 4 million copies. Showing more depth than ever before on the ballad like title track and some great riffs across the record as a whole. Front man Bobby €˜blitz€™ Ellsworth€™s vocals can repel as much as they attract, so be warned.

Live and work in Aberdeen, Scotland...unfortunately. Sang in My Minds Weapon (Basick/Drakkar/Sony) for ten years (2002 - 2012) and now just tinkering with various other projects. Die hard Leeds United fan. Metalhead in my heart but also love many other genres of music. Also enjoy anything with Christopher Walken or David Caruso. Family live in Perth, Australia, so have been there many times. Best place in the world.
