There can't be many people who saw Shinedown play the mainstage this year who won't believe that they didn't just see a future headliner. The Jacksonville natives put on a flawless show with frontman Brent Smith reveling in the adulation of an enthusiastic crowd and showing off his incredible range, not just in pitch but in texture.

He's definitely up there with the best frontmen in rock at the minute and this hour-long set proved exactly why their reputation is only heading one way.

1. Volbeat

As ever, the Danish rockers proved to their fans exactly why it's a travesty that they simply don't tour the UK enough. They've just put on a couple of shows on these fair shores as part of a huge festival presence, but it's really not enough opportunity to see them.

Balancing tub-thumping anthems like Lola Montez and Seal The Deal with a new rendition of Evelyn alongside special guest Mark "Barney" Greenway of Napalm Death and a little homage to both Johnny Cash and Elvis (whose presences hang on every song), they delighted in a set that once more suggests they could easily second stage headline.
