Grammy Awards 2016: Predicting The Winners

10. Best R&B Performance

The Weeknd's career has superseded that of everybody else in this category. Hiatus Kaiyote and Andra Day are relatively unknown and have yet to reach the career heights that The Weeknd had in 2015. Although Tamar Braxton and Jeremiah are now stalwarts of the R&B world, their nominated songs failed to impact the charts in the same explosive way. With his growing success and a major book and film franchise supporting him, The Weeknd obviously had the best producers behind him to create a sure-fire hit, giving him a bit of a head start from his fellow nominees. Usually a high-profile award category, many of the R&B superstars like Kanye, Rihanna and Beyoncé spent 2015 crafting new albums for 2016, meaning The Weeknd became a rather large fish in quite the small pond. Either way you look at it, The Weeknd has truly earned this Grammy.
