http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6P0SitRwy8 So you've just released Nevermind, a huge commercial hit that has won you legions of fans, all of whom are demanding a new album, with expectation at an absolute fever pitch. But how do you follow an album that would later go Diamond with over 10 million copies shipped and 30 million sold worldwide? Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. Yet "Heart Shaped Box", the first single on 1993's In Utero, was as good as any song featured on its predecessor. With the spine-tingling lyric "I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black, a declaration of love that only the mind of Cobain could possibly conjure up, it was one of the more poignant and electric songs on the album. As Kurt launches into the lyrics in the music video, with eyes fixed in a manic, urgent stare, you'd be hard pressed not to feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up. The international release of the single reached number five on the UK Singles Chart and the music video, directed by Anton Corbijn, garnered critical plaudits.
