Lamb of God Frontman Randy Blythe Arrested For Manslaughter
Heavy metal frontman Blythe arrested in Prague and charged after the death of a fan in 2010.
According to Czech website Novinky.cz, Lamb of God vocalist Randy Blythe was last night arrested and charged in Prague on charges of manslaughter, ahead of the band's scheduled appearance at Prague's Hard Rock Cage. The arrest is apparently in response to an incident at a concert back in May 2010 at Club Abaton, in Prague, where a fan jumped on stage during the show, and was involved in a physical altercation with Blythe. The fan later died - apparently as a result of his injuries - and Czech authorities have laid the blame with the frontman, resulting in his arrest and charge last night, and the subsequent cancellation of the band's appearance at the Hard Rock show. Both of the U.S. metal bands who shared the bill - Skeletonwitch and All Shall Perish - carried the show on without Lamb of God. A translated local Czech police statement said simply the following: "We have arrested the singer and charged him with the crime of bodily harm of 4th degree and resulting in the death of the fan.". Lamb of God publicist Maria Ferrero of Adrenaline PR, speaking on behalf to the Examiner of Blythe said he waswrongly accused, that the bands lawyers are dealing with it, and that we expect him to be fully exonerated. The band are currently touring the world in support of their new album 'Resolution', having offered a blistering set at this year's Download festival took to their Twitter last night, discussing the arrest only by posting a simple hashtag of #Freerandyblythe".
