Metallica's Orion Music + More Festival Lineup Announced
Coachella and South By South West (SXSW) that stay put and dont make it to our shores. A festival that has stirred my wanderlust a little bit recently is the Orion Music + More festival line up for 2013. Youll see why in a moment. The festival itself is the brainchild of music industry megalomaniac millionaires Metallica, who announced their plans to create their own festival last year, and after that initial debuts success look set to continue on down this path and make it an annual affair. The 2012 line-up itself was an impressive feat including the curators themselves Metallica alongside the likes of Arctic Monkeys, The Gaslight Anthem, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, Suicidal Tendencies, Sepultura, The Black Dahlia Murder, Hot Snakes, Torche, Titus Andronicus, Fucked Up, Liturgy, A Place To Bury Strangers and Cage The Elephant to name a few. With this years festival set to take place in Detroit, as opposed to last years Atlantic City, with an incomplete line-up announced its already making me wish I was in spitting, or at most driving distance of Detroit. I mean, if I could afford to fly there I would, I really would, but I cant. So instead Ill just cry about it and hope someday they bring it over here, or at least offer me a press pass and pay for my flight over there. I know theyve got the money, Ive got Some Kind of Monster on DVD.
