New Reflektor Tapes Clip

Exclusive clip and music video from Arcade Fire

With their inception in the early 2000s Arcade Fire spent a long time staying out the spotlight, with their priority on staying true to themselves, their music, and wanting to maintain complete control of their music and their creative process. Even after the completely awe releases of their first two albums (Funeral, and Neon Bible), they managed to stay as a somewhat arcane group who could boast an extremely loyal but a relatively, and alarmingly, small fan base. Following critical acclaim of their 4th album Reflektor, when the band were awarded with their Glastonbury headline slot in 2014 there were more than a few eyebrows raised. Many remarked in the UK press that this obscure, mysterious band from Canada were unworthy of the Pyramid stage, and criminally it was put forward that they did not have enough €˜hit€™ songs to fill the prestigious slot. What Arcade Fire proved during that performance was that they were more than ready, and they proceeded to lavish Worthy Farm with a set comprising of a truly musical and visual delight, which saw the band really connect not just with the audience in attendance but with the extended audience who were watching, have watched, and have re-watched on TV since. This is when suddenly everyone suddenly became aware that these guys are something very special indeed. This all fed in to a popularity that the band own up in still trying to adjust to now. The Reflektor Tapes is a documentary, which allows fans an access all areas look in to the band€™s life during the period of the recording of the Reflektor album. It is due for a short cinematic release from 24th September, and is directed by Kahlil Joseph, winner of the 2013 Sundance Grand Jury Prize for Short Films. In the lead up to release the band have released an exclusive clip to stoke the growing anticipation and excitement by fans. You can watch the clip above, and also a brand new music video below created just for the film, for their track €˜Porno€™. ARCADE FIRE: THE REFLEKTOR TAPES in cinemas across the UK from September 24th.
