The Beatles: 14 Most Under-Appreciated Songs
11. Baby's In Black (Beatles For Sale)
Beatles For Sale is easily The Beatles' most underrated album despite having a hit single in Eight Days A Week, but Baby's in Black is arguably the better song on an album that is a fun mix of originals and covers.
This song tells the story of the narrator's object of affection. They are clearly mourning a lost lover, and the singer is frustrated about his attentions going unnoticed - though the reasons are obvious. We once again have excellent harmonies from Lennon and McCartney, plus strong lead guitar from Harrison in what can only be described as a rock and roll waltz.
What also makes Baby's in Black interesting is that the band performed it live on several occasions, most notably at the iconic Shea Stadium concert in 1965. This song was clearly loved by the lads, and it's time it got similar appreciation from the fans.
