The Top 12 Albums of 2012

12. Beach House €“ Bloom

Beach-House-Bloom This duo from Baltimore have been consistently creating lush dream pop for 8 years now, and have been churning it out en masse since their debut album in 2006. Their third album Teen Dream was the first to garner them some considerable critical acclaim, but this year€™s Bloom will be viewed as their breakthrough album. It€™s received very positive feedback all round and its sales have even managed to bother the high end of the charts. Beach House€™s brand of dream pop is a listening experience akin to letting the sea gently wash over you on the shore just a short walk from... well, a beach house. This album has seen them hone their sound, style and songwriting ability whilst building their fanbase and making prominent appearances on the festival circuit. They will only continue to grow from here. Key tracks €“ Myth, Lazuli, The Hours, New Year http://youtu.be/FuvWc3ToDHg
