9. Swans

Swans has had a very interesting comeback of recent years. Originally starting out as a post-punk/no-wave band in New York City, the band is known for its somber vocals set to droning guitars, sometimes pummeling you into submission. They started in 1982 and broke up in 1997...only to reform years later in 2010, putting out a great new album titled My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky. It reaffirmed their status as a dark and yet, introspective group that can wring out emotions from the fringes of your mind.

This was only the start of their comeback, however. Last year, they put out The Seer, a long and dense record that may, in fact, be the best album they€™ve ever recorded. Expect them to bring emotional intensity to the festival this year, bringing both the highs and the lows of our human existence. Watching their set will almost feel like you stepped into a completely different world.
