The Last Jedi's Deleted Scenes Could Include... Luke Skywalker's Wife?!

One chance leak of The Last Jedi's novelisation opens with a line about Luke standing with "his wife by his side". Even if this is (almost definitely) a dream sequence, how does it affect the film, and Mark Hamill's performance?
