14 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2017 (So Far)

The games you really wanted to love.

2017 has been an absolutely incredible year for games so far, with the likes of Resident Evil 7, Yakuza 0, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier: Automata and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild ensuring there's something fantastic for everyone to sink their teeth into.

However, the year hasn't been without its disappointments either, with a number of massively-hyped AAA games falling terribly short of the mark, and some promising indies turning out to be merely acceptable.

The majority of these games are by no means terrible, and many of them are even pretty good, but that just doesn't cut it when there are so many other games to choose from, especially in a year as jam-packed with quality titles as 2017.

These are without question the 14 games you'll want to grab in a sale or just rent, because if you bought them day one, you were surely hoping for more...

14. Tekken 7

The latest entry into the Tekken franchise might do enough for the hardcore crowd, but an hilariously awful story mode (which just might feature the worst voice acting in any game this year) and lack of compelling content made it an adequate yet utterly pedestrian effort.

It doesn't help at all that the game released just a few weeks after Injustice 2, which was so feature-rich and visually stunning, while also delivering a nuanced story mode that was actually worth a damn.

Unless you're particularly attached to the franchise, there was little incentive to bother with this lazy, forgettable brawler.
