It's one rule for some and one rule for another.

A WWE spokesperson has explained the reasoning behind the company not taking any disciplinary action against Brock Lesnar following his failed UFC drug tests.

Speaking to TMZ, the spokesperson explained that as a part-time performer, WWE's talent wellness program doesn't apply to Lesnar.

The rep continued by asserting that Lesnar's planned SummerSlam match against Randy Orton will go ahead, pretty much putting a lid on the whole story from WWE's point of view.

Lesnar failed two drug tests following his return victory at UFC 200, but aside from a certain amount of media furore, seems to have escaped punishment, with UFC confirming that they will not be docking him any pay from the event.

What this amounts to is WWE essentially putting their hands up and saying that Lesnar's discretions are nothing to do with them. The decision isn't going to make those who already resent the part-timers happy, but this clearly is never going to happen anyway.

Lesnar is scheduled to return to WWE RAW next Monday night to continuing hyping his forthcoming dream match with Orton. His advocate Paul Heyman is yet to be confirmed, as Heyman's contract is reported to have expired.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
