NFL: 5 Draft 2013 Picks Who Should Start Immediately For Their New Teams

Tavon Austin We are a week removed from the 2013 NFL Draft. With a little over a month to go until players are mandated to report to their mini-camps, coaches can start to truly prepare for the upcoming season with their latest acquisitions. For some teams, their draft picks might not get the chance right away to start, and could have to wait some time to see the field in 2013, maybe not even until 2014. And then there are some coaches, who have no choice but to start their rookies right away. Whether it's because of a lack of depth, or because they're too good not to play, some of the players taken last week will be seeing the field when the season opens up in September. With the draft in our rear view mirrors, here's a look at 10 rookies who we should expect to see starting for their new team in Week 1.

5. Luke Joeckel, OT, Jacksonville Jaguars

Joeckle What was supposed to be the first pick in the draft ended up becoming the second pick and right into the laps of the Jaguars. Joeckel is a solid talent that has the skills to become one of the top tackles in the game. With Eugene Monroe set at left tackle, the Jaguars may end up putting their first-round pick at right tackle. They do have Cameron Bradfield there from last season, but Joeckel is looked upon as one of the new cornerstone's of the fading franchise. If they want to take the next step in getting away from being a fading team in the NFL, inserting Joeckel is the right move to make, and rookie head coach Gus Bradley knows this. Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert will certainly like the fact that he has another high-leveled tackle protecting him this season, as he will need all the help he can get. Even with Joeckel in the fold, it might not be enough for Gabbert to keep his job and be the guy in Jacksonville.
