10 Craziest Harry Potter Fan Theories

9. Ronbledore

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2
Warner Bros.

This theory stems rather tenuously from the game of Wizard’s Chess that Harry, Hermione and Ron play in the Philosopher’s Stone in which Ron not only plays as a knight but also the role of king, at least metaphorically as he’s the one giving orders and moves thanks to his prodigious knowledge of chess.

Supporters of the theory suggest that the Wizard’s Chess game is a metaphor carefully constructed by J.K. Rowling to symbolise the Second Wizarding War in which Ron plays a knight again and Hogwarts headmaster Dumbledore takes the role of king. A leap of faith and a couple of tinfoil hats later and the conclusion is that as Ron played king in Wizard’s Chess and Dumbledore played king in the Wizarding War, Ron is actually Dumbledore – or rather ‘Ronbledore’.

How? Apparently at some point in adulthood, Ron time travelled backwards and was reborn as Albus Dumbledore. Naturally, this explains why Ron and Dumbledore are hardly ever seen together and why Dumbledore seems to know so much about Harry as he witnessed it as Ron in his first life’s timeline.

If those cold, hard facts aren’t enough proof then there’s plenty more to convince you. Both Ron and Dumbledore are redheads and have been described as having large hands and long noses and they share a love of sweets. Try denying the Ronbledore theory now, non-believers.
