10 Dangerously Pointless World Records That Nobody Should Attempt

Living life on the edge.

With its 61st year of publication, The Guinness Book Of World Records ironically holds its own record as the best-selling copyrighted book of all time. It contains everything from the fastest 100km barefoot to the largest high-heeled shoe. But let's face it these are pretty standard and, well honestly, a little bit boring. Whether you want to admit it or not we all secretly love a bit of risk, whether it€™s buying a new brand of washing powder or bungee jumping off Victoria Falls in Zambia (most of us doing the latter of course). But compared to these incredible human beings those are lame. They have taken risk to the next level and turned the most bizarre and somewhat dangerous experiments into actual world records. These are sure to make you quiver at the knees and maybe make you glad that the most risky thing you'll ever do is dye your hair green...

10. Longest Time Survived Trapped Underground

Not intentionally setting out to break a world record, 33 people (known as The 33 of San Jose) were trapped 688m (2,257 ft) below the surface after the collapse of the San José copper-gold mine for 69 days in August 2010. Absolutely incredible and a well deserved place in The Guinness Book of World Records.
