On 9th June 1934, an animated short staring a brand new Disney character was released. The Little Wise Hen featured a white duck wearing a sailor outfit named Donald.

Unlike Mickey Mouse who is supposed to be a person we all aspire to be, Donald Duck is who we all are. He's not quite perfect. With his negative personality traits, he is the ying to the clean cut Mickey's yang. Donald has a short temper, is unfit and he is a bit of a show off but he is loveable all the same.

With the exception of Goofy, Donald Duck might be the most unlucky of all the Disney classic characters. So much so his car number plate is the number 313, purposely designed to include the number 13.

Yesterday, the original angry bird turned 82 years old and to celebrate here's a look at some of the things that you probably weren't aware of when it comes to Donald.

In the 1942 short called Donald Gets Drafted, we learned that Donald Duck isn't his full name.

Donald's middle name turns out to be Fauntleroy, probably in reference to Little Lord Fauntleroy.

Many depictions of the fictional character show him wearing a big bow and sailor outfit, not too dissimilar to Donald Duck.
