10 Grossest Things You Never Knew About Sleeping

1. People Sweat 26 Gallons Every Year In Bed

If you've ever shuddered awake in the middle of the night, it's because Freddy Krueger accidentally bumped into your bed. We're just kidding, although we bet you'll sweat this evening when thinking about that. Sweat is actually a huge deal when you're sleeping; the average person produces 26 gallons of the stuff each year.

Combine that with the average life span (8 years) of your mattress, and you'd have roughly enough sweat to fill 2 bath tubs. This yumminess keeps on coming, doesn't it? Nightmares aren't the only reason for such copious sweating though, because you'd perspire even without unsettling dreams.

26 gallons is just nasty, and it won't leave your bed smelling fresh. Febreze can only do so much.

So, how quickly will you be rushing out to buy a new bed/mattress/pillow set/flamethrower for your old ones? Let us know down in the comments section below!
