7. Bobby Womack - Married Sam Cooke's Widow 3 Months After Death

Bobby Womack became a soul legend under the tutelage of Sam Cooke. They were incredibly close - like brothers, even. As a result, Womack spent a lot of time with his family. Too much time. Cooke would be killed in a bizarre incident at the Hacienda Hotel. He was seemingly crazed, wearing nothing but a sports coat and, according to the manager, was shot fatally in self defense. The story has become entwined with Cooke's legacy. However what's often forgotten is what happened after his death. Just three months later, Womack would marry Cooke's grieving widow.
