10 Problems Only People From Pittsburgh Would Understand

From the North Hills to the South Side, we're are all too familiar with these steel city problems.

Nestled in the southwest corner of Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh is a city like none other. This former steel town has more hills than San Fransisco, more bridges than Madison County, and a positively rabid fan base for its sports teams. Native Pittsburghers take pride in the characteristics and accomplishments of the steel city and its people. The 'Burgh is often touted as being a big city with a small town feel. The neighbourhoods have their own unique flavours. The large parks let you get away from it all without ever leaving town. The burgeoning arts and film scene are transforming the city into a kind of east coast Hollywood. Lest we forget, Pittsburgh was Gotham City in The Dark Knight Rises and the beloved Pittsburgh Steelers were the Gotham City Rogues. Like any other city, Pittsburgh has it's quirks and peccadilloes. It has its own language, epitomized by the word "Yinz", as in "Are yinz guys goin' to watch the Penguins game?" Pittsburgh residents who revel in such colloquialisms are therefore known as "Yinzers". It's a town where pierogies are always on the menu, sports are on the television, and cold beer is on tap. In many ways, Pittsburgh feels like its own little world surrounded by rivers. Here are 10 problems only people in that little world would understand.
