10 Problems Only People Who Love Their Alone Time Will Understand

Let them think you're mysterious. You're probably just reading a scary novel in bed.

While being out with your friends and engaging in a healthy social life is considered the best thing ever, sometimes hanging out on your own can be just as satisfying. Alone time is pretty underrated; after all derogatory terms like "loner", and the stigma attached to being assumed to have few friends, can make having some solitary hours seem like a negative thing. If you're an only child, or just love your own company, sometimes having some of your own personal space can be a godsend, and also come naturally when you're planning your weekend or deciding what to do of an evening. Being by yourself doesn't mean moping around. Often giving yourself the time and head space without the distraction of others can prove productive and fulfilling. Dinner for one? No problem. A walk around the park without your BFF nattering in your ear? Bliss, if you're someone who prefers their own company to that of others. You don't need to feel guilty when you tell your friends you don't fancy a big night out; staying in and catching up on chores, watching a film, or reading your book can be just as fun. Solitary individual: we social butterflies take our hats off to you. You are strong and independent, and you know that a couple of hours alone are all you need to venture into the unknown and achieve things you never could in the company of others. (Still, you face a few problems...)

I love Stephen King and music festivals; I eat my toast upside down; I daydream about getting married probably a bit too much; and I wish every day for a pet sausage dog puppy (who never materialises – sob).
