10 Things All Netballers Think During A Game

"If exercising was easy, everyone would do it. Just try not to collapse..."

Netball is one of your favourite sports and it's upsetting that it's so underrated. But, with every form of exercise and training, there are going to be some days when you just want to stay in bed and skip practise. If you've ever done this, you better have made the most of it and indulged on fatty foods and then sent a picture to all of your team mates with your clothes slopped in what you were eating. This is why you're so heavy footed on court and falling with grace is out of the question. However, the first session back after you've done this is hard. Your technique is sloppy, your dragging your landing leg and you're exhausted after the warm up. You still have an hour and forty minutes to go and a game tomorrow, you need to sort yourself out. This is why you love the social side that comes with playing the game, because no matter how much you're struggling, you're surrounded by six other girls who will carry you to the end. They will carry you by not throwing you the ball until you're ready and they'll put you as either GS or GK because you know, less running. There are certain aspects of the sport that you love and hate. You absolutely love actually playing a game but you hate training for it with ten minutes of high knees and half an hour of suicides. You do it because it needs to be done but you're cursing your coach under your breath. Well, you're actually shouting and she's laughing at you. Still, the support that you need is there. So here are the thoughts that you probably think during a one hour game because although it's acceptable to sometimes skip training, missing a game is forbidden.
