10 Things You Didn't Know About Michelle Rodriguez

7. Rodriguez Was Expelled From Five Different Schools... But Later Gained A General Education Development Certificate

An often-controversial figure during adulthood, Rodriguez was no different during her teenage years - being kicked out of five different schools in all. Having moved to the Dominican Republic between the ages of eight and 11, she then lived in Puerto Rico for six years before finding herself in Jersey City, New Jersey. Yet settling in a school at any of these places proved to be a serious problem, and Rodriguez was expelled on five separate occasions. Having dropped out of high school without any top-level qualifications, she later studied for a "General Educational Development" (GED) diploma. The GED grants American or Canadian citizens a "Certificate of High School Equivalency", meaning Rodriguez can claim to be educated up to high-school level.
