11 Actors Who've Performed Real-Life Rescues

Despite the vast amounts of money spent on promoting Hollywood's finest, they do tend to get a fair bit of bad press. It's not a day with a Y in it if at least one of them isn't being deemed narcissistic, under-worked, overpaid, over-hyped, overtly political or not political enough. Few hearts bleed for the reputations of the rich and famous but if we're going to pillorise the worst in the industry then it's only right to give credit to those who've made it proud with their off-screen actions. In this instance we're not talking about making a donation to charity, although stars giving money away to worthwhile causes should always be encouraged lest they close their wallets. Re-tweeting an appeal doesn't count either, especially since there's a high chance their assistant did it. Nor praise those who simply used their mobile to call the emergency services because that just makes you someone who displays the most basic humanity, it's not an act which should earn anything more than a standard thank you. No, the actors on this list have all personally come to the rescue in life-threatening situations. So if you want to find out who stopped a gun-shot victim from bleeding out, or who jumped behind the wheel of a runaway van, then carry on reading.
