It's not like fiddling with light switches is a real, life-ruining problem for most people, but the beauty of being a human is that you have the freedom to choose between faffing around with lamps like a peasant, or being a stylish, LightBox owning mofo. The LightBox looks just like an innocent block of wood, but it hides an accelerometer to detect changes in orientation and transmits this information to receivers that are plugged into your various lighting. When it is lying on its side, your lights are off, pick it up and stand it on its end and up to five different lights will magically switch on. Whilst it isn't specified in the design specs, it looks like this could be used for anything that is powered by a mains outlet, like a fan or television, but don't take my word for it.
