If you had chicken pox as a child then you were one of the lucky ones. Although at the time, your little four year old self thought that you were dying, that life was unfair and you'd rather just be a skeleton than have skin; but as a fully grown adult, you can't really remember the struggle. You can vaguely remember being itchy and having red things all over your body but that was about it. If you didn't have them as a child and you get them as an adult, then you're raging at your childhood self for not licking that girl in class who wasn't feeling well and then was off for two weeks with the chicken pox. It's a lot worse as an adult because no one welcomes shingles with open arms, especially not pensioners.
