The first of several politicians on this list, this U.S. Congressman one time recounted his experience during a Democratic primary debate. Dennis Kucinich seemed slightly flustered when moderator Tim Russert asked him about what he saw.

Drawn by the smell of roses, Kucinich went out onto a balcony in Washington state in September of 1982. From there, he observed a triangular-shaped craft above him. It was hovering silently for about ten minutes before it sped away at an unfathomable speed.

In the 2007 debate, Kucinich didn't elaborate much, but rather attempted to save face by reminding those watching that even former President Jimmy Carter had a UFO sighting. He also joked that more Americans have probably seen flying saucers than approved of then-President George Bush.
