Here in the 2010s, we have a constant struggle to keep up with the latest smartphone releases and the terrible inconvenience of the broadband light flashing for a moment resulting in thirty seconds of internet downtime - heinous! However, we had it so much worse in the 1990s. Technology and indeed life in general has moved on massively since then (the 1990s did start twenty-four years ago and end fifteen years ago, after all) and the problems we had back then were oh so much worse! We don't know how lucky we are these days! But, in all seriousness, we do complain about an awfully large number of things here in the "first world" that we have absolutely no right to complain about. There are people on this planet who would walk a thousand miles for a small fraction of the luxuries that we are granted on a daily basis - even with the niggling issues that come with them. The world was a better place when the majority of the people in it appreciated the little things - not how it is today, and how it's been for several decades, whereby we complain about the things we should feel privileged to have in the first place.
